Dear Reader,
What if I told you that you could blog your way to happiness.
If blogging is your passion, you may be thinking “duh!” However, for everyone else, I want to let you in on a little secret… blogging really can be your vehicle to happiness.
Over the past year, I have been planning, writing, and editing a piece of work a bit bigger than my CuriousWordsBlog.com site. In fact, I have been working on a book. “About what?” you ask. Blogging, of course!
Blogging can be a way to earn money, a creative outlet, or even your 9-to-5. Blogging can also be so much more than that. In my book “Year of the Blog: How to Achieve Your Life’s Purpose in 5 Steps and 365 Blog Posts,” I explore how blogging can help you achieve your own happiness.
Research shows that writing every day can help relieve stress, anxiety, and be overall beneficial to your mental health. In cognitive behavioral therapy, a form of therapy that focuses on dysfunctional behaviors/ emotions/ thoughts to facilitate greater happiness, journaling is often an effective component of treatment. In short, writing can do wonders for your mind!
“Year of the Blog” asks the reader to commit to finding their own happiness (their purpose).
The 365-Day Blogging Challenge is simple — write one blog entry every day for a calendar year.

By writing every day, with a focus on self-reflection and a deep dive into your interests, “Year of the Blog” guides you to discover, work toward, and live by your most purposeful life.
I took the 365-Day Blogging Challenge from August 2019 – August 2020 and there were ups, and downs (and many more downs and a pandemic to boot). However, guess what, dear Reader? Something beautiful happened during my 365 days of blogging — the process lifted my spirits and helped me become acquainted with the components in my life that contribute to my happiness.
You don’t have to be a writer. You don’t have to have a blog. You don’t even have to buy into the whole “blogging for happiness” thing. However, if you are at all interested in unleashing your inner happiness, do consider starting your own 365-Day Blogging Challenge.
In “Year of the Blog,” I take you through my 365-day journey and offer you tips to blogging your way to happiness. With just five basic steps and a daily blog post, what have you got to lose?
The world looks differently when we are enjoying the little moments.
I wish you nothing but blogging bliss in this new year.

Happy blogging 🙂 (for happiness 😉 )

Raven
Couldn’t agree more, writing can do wonders for your mind. Ever since I started writing 500 words first thing out of bed, I look at the world differently.
